Aloha everybody!
For this episode of Otaku 5-0, Mr. A and myself are joined by Neko-X (the podcast Video Game & Blu-ray Contributor). On an eerily fortuitous note, The Hawai'i Video Gaming League (which Neko-X founded and currently serves as its Commissioner) was featured on an evening news segment for KHNL, our local NBC affiliate.
The news segment on the Hawai'i Video Gaming League can be seen here.
On behalf of the staff at Otaku 5-0, I would like to congratulate Neko-X on a job well done, and wish him continued success in the future.
Mahalo,
Totoro (Executive Producer)

Otaku 5-0 Season 2: Episode 10
Aloha everybody!
Now that we have (partially) recovered from the life-draining experience that was Kawaii-kon 2009, we have returned to our regularly scheduled programming.
As promised, I am placed on "the hot seat/stool" for the 2nd installment of The Gauntlet. As with the previous installment, we have included (in the "Show Notes" section) the actual questions that I was asked, in order. (Of course, you are more than welcome to post your own answers as well.)
Additionally, during the latest round of technical edits, I took out the download link for the Laura Bailey interview. This has been rectified, and you may now download that segment and keep it for your own enjoyment.

Otaku 5-0: Kawaii-kon 2009 Post-Mortem
Aloha everybody!
In our final podcast episode covering Kawaii-kon 2009, I am joined on the panel by Kekumanshoyu (who works double-duty as Assistant Director of Registration & Assistant Director of Staffing/Operations for Kawaii-kon.)
This episode posed an unusual conundrum for me. We ended up with 90+ minutes of footage, and due to our, "80-minute episode policy", I had to edit some parts out. So, what you have here is a pretty good distillation of what was discussed.
For all you aspiring podcasters out there, one of the most important principles to keep in mind in the post-production process is FINDING A BALANCE. Case in point: Because Kira (the Anime/Manga Contributor of our podcast) takes up a lot of time in this episode, I had to balance out his musings with those of Jupiter (who had her share of comments to make about the kon.)

Otaku 5-0 Season 2: Episode 9
Aloha everybody!
In this episode of we feature an interview with our special guest DJ Buma, an Assistant Technical Director for Kawaii-kon (Hawaii's anime convention) and Coordinator for the convention's yearly VAST (Video Art Showcase Theater) competition.
After the conclusion of the last episode, I decided to step down from what seemed to be a permanent spot as Moderator, in an effort to give my fellow contributors a chance to sit in the driver's seat. Before recording commenced, it was determined (by a die roll... 1d6 FTW!) that Jupiter would be tonight's moderator (although I did end up stepping in a few times because of her maternal responsibilities.)
Also, I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to vote in our latest poll. Effective immediately, Cupid's broadcast name has been changed to Mr. A.
In closing, I would like to once again thank DJ Buma for taking the time to appear on our podcast, and I hope that you (our audience) get as much enjoyment out of listening to our podcast as we do when we get together to record it.

It Came From YouTube, Part 1
Aloha!
It's not often that I post anything besides episodes and the obligatory feature article, but for today, I decided to showcase some of my favorite clips from YouTube.
This has to be one of the best McDonald's TV spots ever made. Needless to say that after I watched it for the first time, I was unable to get the song out of my head for almost two days.
The next clip is the opening credits sequence for the HBO mini-series John Adams (which usurped Roots as my favorite TV mini-series ever) starring Paul Giamatti & Laura Linney as John & Abigail Adams respectively.
I am not a fighting game afficionado, but the next two clips are the opening sequences from my current favorite fighting game titles - Bushido Blade & its sequel, Bushido Blade 2.
And let me end the first installment of this feature article series with a clip of what possibly might be the greatest comedy routine in the 20th Century:
See you in Cyberspace,
